A cinematic website starts with a clear visual direction: deliberate type, a strong hero, and motion that supports the story. VividSites brings its template and component library into ChatGPT so you can find a starting point, inspect the design, and retrieve the instructions for building it. This guide takes you from a short brief to a build prompt you can use in your project.
The VividSites ChatGPT app retrieves library content. It does not generate or publish a website, generate video, or purchase credits. Use a coding assistant or your own development workflow to implement the retrieved prompt, then review the result before deploying it.
1. Connect VividSites to ChatGPT
VividSites in ChatGPT
chatgpt.comOpen the VividSites listing in ChatGPT and follow its connection flow. Sign in to the VividSites account that holds your library access, review the requested permission, and choose Allow library access. Return to ChatGPT and use VividSites for the prompts below.
TipThe ChatGPT app uses account sign-in. You do not need to paste an API key into the conversation.
Every connector tool requires a paid VividSites library account, including searches and items labeled free in the catalog. Your content entitlements still apply, and retrieving premium build prompts may use your plan’s existing daily prompt allowance. Preview your shortlist before requesting several full prompts.
Check VividSites library access
vividsites.appCheck the current library plans and allowances if your account cannot connect. A ChatGPT connection does not grant additional VividSites entitlements.
2. Describe the site before choosing a template
Give ChatGPT the audience, the offer, and the one action you want visitors to take. Then describe the visual direction in concrete terms. Warm paper tones, large editorial type, and a slow hero reveal give it more to work with than make it premium. Replace the bracketed fields in this brief with your own details.
Help me plan a cinematic website using VividSites.
Brand: [name and what we sell].
Audience: [who the site is for].
Primary action: [book a call / view work / buy a product].
Pages or sections: [hero, offer, work, FAQ, contact].
Visual direction: [palette, typography, imagery, mood].
Motion: [one main effect], with a reduced-motion fallback.
Project stack: [existing stack, or ask me before choosing].
Summarize the brief and identify missing content before searching.
Do not invent testimonials, client logos, or business results.3. Search for a starting point, then inspect the preview
Search by the look and the type of page you need. The library distinguishes full templates and landing pages from hero sections, 3D sections, and background loops. A hero section can be useful, but it is not a complete multi-page site. Ask ChatGPT to explain what each result actually contains.
Use VividSites to search for templates matching this brief.
Return up to three real matches with their title, slug, kind,
stack, and the preview information returned by VividSites.
Explain which parts fit my brief and which would need changing.
If there is no close match, say so and suggest a broader search.
Do not retrieve full build prompts yet.Pick a result from the actual search response. Open its preview and look at the hierarchy, motion, and content density. Some templates have a poster and preview video without a published live preview. Treat those as references; you will still need to test your own implementation.
Get the VividSites preview for [slug from the search results].
Show the library page, poster, preview video, and live preview
when available. If there is no live preview, say so.
Give me a checklist for reviewing the hero, type, motion,
navigation, and how well the layout fits my content.4. Retrieve the build prompt and adapt it to your brand
Once you have chosen a template, retrieve its full build prompt. Keep that source prompt intact so you can compare the original instructions with your changes. Ask for a separate adaptation brief covering your copy, assets, colors, sections, and stack. This makes it easier to spot an accidentally removed interaction or a media reference that no longer works.
Retrieve the complete VividSites build prompt for [chosen slug].
Preserve the returned source prompt and media URLs.
Then write a separate adaptation brief for my brand:
- Replace template copy with the facts I supplied.
- Map my sections and primary action onto the design.
- Identify assets I need to supply or replace.
- Keep the main visual idea and simplify secondary motion.
- List any stack changes or dependencies the builder must check.
Mark missing facts as placeholders. Do not claim a build is complete.5. Add a component only where it helps
If you already have a site, start here instead of replacing the whole design. VividSites can return component HTML, CSS, JavaScript, dependency information, and an install command. A magnetic button, a text reveal, or a 3D background can give one section a clearer visual identity. Check how the component fits your framework and existing styles before adding it.
Search VividSites for a magnetic button for my primary CTA.
Choose a matching component from the actual results and retrieve
its HTML, CSS, JavaScript, dependencies, and install command.
Explain how to adapt it to [my stack] and brand colors.
Include keyboard focus and a reduced-motion treatment.
Show the code and integration plan before changing project files.Explore the VividSites components
vividsites.appBrowse components visually if you are still deciding what the page needs. Choose one effect that supports the content, then ask for that component in ChatGPT.
6. Hand the prompt to your coding assistant
Take the original prompt, your adaptation brief, and any component code into the coding assistant working on your project. A build needs a place to write and run code. Retrieving instructions inside ChatGPT is one step in that workflow; it is not evidence that files have been created or a website is live.
Build this design in my project using the VividSites source prompt
and adaptation brief below.
Inspect the project and follow its existing stack and conventions.
Preserve unrelated features and explain any required dependencies.
Use semantic HTML, responsive layouts, and visible keyboard focus.
Provide reduced-motion and static media fallbacks.
Use my supplied facts; flag missing copy and assets.
Run the project’s applicable checks and show a local preview.
Report what is implemented, untested, or still a placeholder.
Leave deployment for my review.
[Paste the source prompt, adaptation brief, and component code here.]7. Review the finished page before publishing
- Message: can a visitor tell what you offer and what to do next from the first screen?
- Mobile: check narrow screens for clipped headings, overflow, unreadable text, and hard-to-tap controls.
- Motion: test keyboard navigation and reduced-motion settings; ensure content remains usable if video or WebGL fails.
- Performance: measure the built page, optimize media, and check that effects do not delay the main content.
- Content: replace placeholders, verify claims, check asset permissions, and test links and forms.
- Search: set a descriptive page title, meta description, canonical URL, and headings that describe the actual content.
Review the implemented site against my brief.
Check desktop and mobile layout, keyboard access, reduced motion,
media fallbacks, links, forms, and page metadata.
Report issues with the affected page or component and a concrete fix.
Separate checks you actually ran from recommendations.
Do not invent performance scores or claim a successful deployment.Common questions
Can I use the app without a paid VividSites account? Every connector tool currently checks for paid library access. A catalog item labeled free does not remove that connection requirement.
Why did a build prompt fail? Check that you connected the account with library access. A premium prompt may also be subject to your plan’s allowance, and an individual item may not have a prompt available. Use the returned error to decide whether to reconnect, check your plan, or choose another item.
Can it create original hero footage? The app can retrieve VividSites’ five-part video prompt formula. Ask ChatGPT to turn that guidance into a brief for your subject, lighting, color grade, and camera move. You will need a separate video-generation workflow to produce and review the footage.
