Laguna
Laguna is the Bacino di San Marco at 02:40, and it is a world you drag to look around rather than a page you scroll. The water is a true planar mirror broken by a seven-wave sum, so the palazzi, the lanterns and a setting moon stretch into long streaks across it; wet Istrian stone, lit windows, two stone bridges, striped paline and a height mist that pools at the waterline surround it, and three gondolas glide past with swaying gondoliers and bow lamps that light the quay as they go. Leave it alone and the camera sweeps the basin by itself. The palazzi, gondola and gondolier models, the HDR and the stone, brick and plaster textures are all hosted. Built in HTML and Three.js, one file, no build step.
